About The Little Bears Home Daycare:
Welcome to The Little Bears Home Daycare, a licensed childcare facility committed to providing a safe and enriching environment for your child's growth and development.
Our daycare operates with strict adherence to all childcare standards and guidelines, ensuring the highest level of care for your child. Regular visits from Home Coordinators help us maintain safety, health, and program quality. These visits also provide opportunities for ongoing caregiver training and support.
In addition to regular checks from Home Coordinators, we also welcome visits from the Ministry of Education, the City of Toronto Children’s Services, Public Health, and the Fire Department to ensure our daycare consistently meets or exceeds required standards.
We prioritize your child's well-being and nutrition with a menu based on the Canada Food Guide, offering two snacks and a hot lunch daily. Most meals are home-cooked, with an emphasis on healthy eating and international foods. We also accommodate food allergies and restrictions upon request to ensure every child has a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
Our daycare fosters an inclusive and welcoming environment that celebrates children of all abilities and families from diverse backgrounds. With a capacity of just 6 children, we ensure each child receives personalized care and attention.
Join us at The Little Bears Home Daycare, where your child's development and happiness are our top priorities.
I am dedicated to providing exceptional care for children and building strong connections with their families. I believe in fostering close relationships with parents by creating a caring and responsive environment for their little ones. My goal is to nurture children with the knowledge and practices of early childcare, recognizing the importance of play in their learning journey.
In alignment with the City of Toronto Home Child Care Assessment for Quality Assurance, I have carefully designed our environment with thoughtfully crafted learning centers. These spaces are filled with age-appropriate toys to spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and invite experimentation. I understand that each child is unique, and I highly value the contributions and involvement of parents to meet their individual needs.
Open communication is at the heart of our daycare. I keep parents informed about their child's day, progress, and any concerns. We actively exchange insights about the child's health and well-being, working collaboratively to help each child reach their full potential. I share weekly updates, including pictures of children engaging in meaningful activities, to keep parents connected and involved in their child's daycare experience.
I wholeheartedly welcome and encourage parental involvement in our program. Whether it's celebrating a child's birthday with traditional homemade food, joining field trips, participating in farewell celebrations, or simply reading books and building blocks with the children, parents play an integral role in our daycare community.
At The Little Bears Home Daycare, my priority is to create secure attachments with the children and foster strong relationships among playmates. This foundation supports free play, exploration, inquiry, and a sense of belonging. I actively promote social skills like sharing, turn-taking, acceptance, and understanding throughout the day. I listen attentively to the children, responding promptly to their physical and emotional needs.
I observe and note children's interests and developmental abilities, setting learning goals and creating opportunities for essential skill acquisition. My weekly program plan, based on the children's interests, includes both planned and spontaneous activities. While every moment is a learning opportunity, I place special emphasis on preparing children for school by focusing on social skills, self-care skills, and academics.
